It's standard for any application to ask you for a file or a directory. When doing this, you're normally taken to a dialogue box where you can choose the file or folder that's requested.
There are five folders that appear on the left side of this window that are apparently the most useful ones. You can click on them to go straight to their location.
Places Bar Editor is a simple, free application for Windows that lets you swap these folders for other ones you might consider more useful.
You can select the system's default folders, or any other folder on your hard drive. All of this is easy and can be done with total freedom.
Places Bar Editor also includes the possibility of undoing all of the changes and leaving the original folders, as well as a button that lets you open the famous dialogue box where you can see the changes.
